My question is should i buy a rubber mounted sportster or a older model I heard that the pre rubber mounted models vibrate a lot at higher speeds. I have cams, ignition, pipe and carb on my Sportie. We have developed a range of our tried and tested frames for the increasingly popular rubber mount sportsters from 2004 and up. I'm thinking about buying a sportster 1200 and I have found a few 04 05 and older (i like the use of the carb so I'm staying with pre 06 since they went EFI in 07). The speedo is crap.mine was off about 5mph! My vette is an 03 C5.very different from the old ones! Stable AND fast! attitude and looks, with 1/2- 3/4 of the hp of late sixties muscle =) i hope u enjoy that more than i did my 2nd gen T/A's -had 3, I love the rides - but gm/pontiac made those 1970's cages purdy susceptible to rust and general falling apart w/use - I am stuck in 70's for hobby vehicles, I like the almost muscle cars LOL!!!. However, this is NOT a straight bolt-up solution. the bike runs great - I enriched the bottom and put a smaller jet in for a leaner topġ34 ? I have a SE ign., Bub/Rine 2-2 & DJ jet kit w/ K&N I know I hit 130 - I may have once crossed that but I loose confidence in the mph after 130 - I had GPS up to 128 - other top speed runs I forgot to bring gps along - D'oh !Ĭorvette - ugh. older style (pre-2004) forward controls that mount the master cylinder on the pulley cover plate. but I have been dumb enough to push for a top blast even w/o ATGATT. I used to get the 110 wobble - with all my adjustments I am wobble free all the way up to max, as of last season - last season was new rubber and superbrace We have developed a range of our tried and tested frames for the increasingly popular rubber mount sportsters from 2004 and up. and depending on jetting I can get to 124-130 110-120 ya got to twist it and hold on - ~120 it straitens out again. ![]()
